The owner of numerous Deadwood bonanza mines chooses to take his life while friends and three doctors do all they might to turn the sad event. Within a few short days before his suicide, Dan Harnett was out making deals and looking at his mines.
Dan Harnett had been offered $40,000 for The Oriole Mine and refused it, and then had the mine bonded for 30 days at a value of $80,000 Aug 06 1877.
