1876 Deadwood Genealogy Poems Written by Residents

Poem written upon the death of a dog.
"Her demeanor so mild, her intelligence rare; in her strife's she was wild, for her own she would care. Many years did she live--many foes has she met; she would never forgive, nor would ever forget. You can just bet your boots she was no tenderfoot." Requiescat in pace, author unknown. Black Hills Daily Times May 6, 1884, p. 4, col. 1.
