Mr. P.A. Gushurst, of Lead City, was arrested Tuesday afternoon for assault and battery on William Thatchett. The trouble seemed to arise from Thatchett owing J.F. Peters four dollars for boots. Peters went to Thatchett for the money and he did not have it. At this Peters went for Gushurst and together they proceeded to the place where Thatchett was working and while Gushurst was thumping Thatchett, Peters took possession of his valise and carried it home. Thatchett had Gushurst arrested and the trial was set for 10 o'clock yesterday, but by that time they had compromised matters among themselves.
