"BedrocK" J. J. Williams born about 1840 New York in the spring of 1877, before the town site was entered, and his partner ran a tunnel mainly on what is now known as Lot 109 for the purpose of prospecting a gold placer mine.

I am looking for any information about who the WILLIAMS ST in DEADWOOD is and some history as to how the name was choosen?  Can anyone help with this?? Thanks
