Comments: Henry "Hank" Butler Beaman was my husband's great grandfather. Born in Owen County, Indiana, he arrived in Deadwood in the mid-1870's. Once there he became very involved in various aspects of the community, a jack-of-all trades; fireman, carpenter, real estate developer, deputy marshall, etc. He married to Mary Jane Munger, a native of Leamington, Ontario, Canada. Her great-grandfather being Simon Girty, Jr.
Upon leaving Deadwood, the family would settle in Missoula, Montana where Hank, Mary and several of their children are buried.
